Tracy Going, founder of When Love Hurts, is a former award-winning TV and radio news anchor. She is best remembered as one of the founding anchors of SABC 2’s Morning Live and also as prime time news anchor for Radio Metro and Kaya FM, with her own show on SAFM. She presented business Market Report on SKY News and anchored the nightly business show Business Tonight.

Over the years she has anchored the broadcasts of National Government elections, State of the Nation addresses and National Budgets.

She has been a much sought-after Speaker and MC for leading local and international organisations. She received a standing ovation at the Sunday Literary awards last year with her talk The Illumination of Truthfulness within the Context of the #MeToo Campaign.

She has written two children’s story-cookbooks: the best selling African Animals Rhymes & Recipes and Awesome Animals Rhymes & Recipes. It is the latter that received the prestigious Best in South Africa Gourmand Cookbook Award and took second position at the world Gourmand Cookbook Awards at the Paris Cookbook Fair in 2013.

She has lectured at AFDA film school in Cape Town but left to focus on writing her memoir Brutal Legacy.

Brutal Legacy has been a resounding success and quickly reached best-seller status. It was adapted into a theatre production by award-winning director Lesedi Job and ran to much acclaim at the Theatre on the Square in Sandton.

Brutal Legacy was long-listed for the Alan Paton award in 2019.
